Philippians 1:1
“Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons:”
bond-servants. from the Greek word “duolos,” meaning a person owned by someone else and thus subservient to and dependent on that person.
the word points to willing, determined and devoted servants that have the attitude of an old testament slave, that is to say, a slave who refused the opportunity for freedom and voluntarily resubmitted themselves to their master for life.
may this be true of us in regards to our Master, beloved ones.
